Its still winter up here, where is spring? Harrisville State Park is a great place if you are lucky enough to get a site right on the lake shore. This time of year is great for us. Terri and I have heard of how nice this park was for years now. A couple of years ago when the state revamped its reservation website and added photos of campsites, we even got to see what all the hype was about. When you make a reservation at a park you can sometimes be in for quite a surprise when you arrive and see what the campsite actually looks like. This was the case when we arrived at the Straits State Park. It was much nicer than we had expected. The site description and photos gave us the impression that we may have some issues with the size and orientation of the spot we reserved. Currently, we are back at the Bay City State Park to spend some time with the grandkids before our trip up north.  The kids just love the Spray By The Bay, which is the park’s splash pad. There is also a nice playground as well as the beach on the shore of Saginaw Bay. We all had a blast!       Here I am posing next to the infamous Big Booty Tree. The kids thought this was just hilarious.

This is the view right outside of my window as I write this post. We are just a few yards from the Lake Michigan shoreline in Petoskey, Michigan at the State Park. The place is quiet and peaceful. This is the perfect place to sit back, relax, rejuvenate and recover from the hassles of everyday life. Just listen to the gentle sound of the waves crashing across the rocks onto the still beach.
