Today Terri and I were joined by Jim, Gary, Jeff, Linda, Jerry and Ellen. We all took an early morning trip down the Rifle River. We started out at 7AM. This is a great time of the day to be on the river. The highlight of the trip was the sighting of an eagle perched above us as we passed down the river below him. We selected the Showboat Park Campground as our next destination for several reasons. We wanted a place centrally located for our friends and family to gather for Father’s Day. We wanted to get a little closer to Lansing, where we were going to attend the Celtic Women concert. We wanted a place near a golf course, so that us dads could play a little golf on Father’s Day. Friday we all gathered to head out for a kayak trip down the Muskegon River. When we arrived at the river Gary found a feather and stuck it in my cap. I called it “Macaroni”. We are back again this year to join our friends and family at Wilson State Park in Harrison, Michigan. We all had a great time at this park last year, so we thought we would give it another go this year. The park has lots of shade trees, a nice lake, and a small beach.
