We happened to be window shopping when we ran across a store that sold Purple mattresses. We have heard a lot of good things about these mattresses and thought we’d give it a try.
While talking to the store manager about the Purple mattress, he asked about mattresses we have owned in the past. I looked around the store and noticed that he sold Denver mattresses as well here, so I answered we have a Denver mattress at home. We actually did.
We liked the Denver mattress in the beginning but that was extremely short-lived. I explained that it was now very uncomfortable and we no longer used it. When he asked how long we have had it, I was surprised to find out it was still under warranty. I was even more surprised to find out that he was willing to let us trade it in on a new Purple mattress. So today we brought home a new Queen sized Purple Mattress.
We will now put it to the test and compare it to our beloved Leesa Mattress.
Bryan, you are correct about the purple sheets. They are incredible. We are ordering a second set of the sheets as well. Like you stated the stretchiness is what makes them work so well and I appreciate the bamboo for the coolness. We actually have the Purple sheets on our Leesa mattress right now.
After about a month of switching between both the Leesa and the Purple, we still need a bit of time to decide which one will end up in the RV in the long run.
We bought a Purple mattress for our Montana to replace the lame mattress it came with. Since our RV came with a King size “memory foam mattress” and we preferred a queen (more room to move in the bedroom and a Purple queen was way cheaper) I got out my trusty saw and trimmed the plywood base down to size. I also was able to sell the factory installed mattress on Craig’s List.
We LOVE our Purple mattress! It sleeps so much cooler and is so comfortable. It took a few days to get used to like any new mattress, but now we wouldn’t trade it for anything. The only downside is that it’s so comfortable that we have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning!
I would recommend getting the Purple sheets since they are super soft and stretchy – with the stretchy aspect being the important part. Stiff sheets will provide less give and you won’t be able to appreciate how much you could sink into the mattress. We purchased ours online and got the sheets for free. During certain holidays you might also be able to find a $100 off coupon (“cool100” was the one we used).
We have had our Purple mattress for 9 months and we still love it as much today. I even bought a Purple seat cushion later which I’m sitting on as I type as the RV chairs don’t provide enough padding for extended sitting. Hope this helps!
