We pulled into the park only to find ourselves buried in the mud. Even our 4-wheel drive pickup couldn’t help us out of this jam. This campground is mostly just lawn, so when it gets wet the ground gets quite soggy. We stayed at Churchgrove park for about 2 weeks. Half of that time we spend at our nearby home. This year our trip to Ocean Lakes was scheduled later in the season. This time the pool was open daily instead of just on weekends. It is great to be able to grab a tube and float down the lazy river as the warm sun beats down on you. What a relaxing time this is. So once again we took a gamble and decided to try and get into Tamarack on our way to the beach. It is a good half-way stopping point between our home and Myrtle Beach. We only needed a safe, quiet place to spend the night and Tamarack usually fits the bill. Its still winter up here, where is spring? Harrisville State Park is a great place if you are lucky enough to get a site right on the lake shore. This time of year is great for us. The park is still relatively empty and it is a lot easier maneuvering our rig into some of these smaller campsites that are at these older state parks.
