Lakeport State Park, located just north of Port Huron in Michigan, is one of the nicest State Parks we have ever had the pleasure of visiting. We arrived at the park late on Friday in the off-season and were surprised to see someone there to meet us. They were very friendly and helped us to find a site.
The site we chose was directly on the shores of Lake Huron. It was one of the largest state park sites we have been in. All of the sites offer electric. There is water and a dump station in the campground. Two of the three shower houses were new. All of them were clean and very well taken care of. There is also a small general store within the park.
We enjoyed our stay here even though it rained the entire time we were here. We hope to return soon.
