This is the view right outside of my window as I write this post. We are just a few yards from the Lake Michigan shoreline in Petoskey, Michigan at the State Park. The place is quiet and peaceful. This is the perfect place to sit back, relax, rejuvenate and recover from the hassles of everyday life. Just listen to the gentle sound of the waves crashing across the rocks onto the still beach. I will let you go ahead and be envious of me. If it were you, I would be. Now …

Since we had a few days left before our reservation at Traverse City State Park we decided to head over to Four Seasons RV Park rather than go home. The place has been neglected in recent years so we have not visited it for a while. We thought we’d give it another try. Plus we were really looking forward to soaking in the hot tub. We have visited this state park in the past but never actually stayed here. What a mistake. After camping here for almost a week, this place has quickly become one of our favorite parks in Michigan. The park offers 20/30 amp electrical with some 50 amp sites. The sites are good sized, mostly shaded and some are even paved. You have easy access to the Little Traverse Bay beach which is on Lake Michigan. Since we now have bicycles, we were glad to see access to the Little Traverse Wheelway from within the park. …

The state park in East Tawas is not a very large park but it has a lot to offer. It is located on a peninsula that goes out around Tawas Bay. There are 193 sites that were averagely sized for a state park and offered electrical hookups. Some of the sites were even paved. We got the pleasure of speaking with Brad, the host camper at the park during our stay there. He was very helpful and took the time to explain some of the activities that bring visitors to this area. …
